Rules & Conditions
- 1. Judging commencing at 10 a.m. sharp.
- 2. Entries & Entry Fees by post or email to the secretary before Thursday 25th August 2011.
- 3. Entry fees must accompany the Entry Form and failure to do this will incur a surcharge of €5 per exhibit/class on the day.
- 4. Foals must be led.
- 5. Exhibitors are strongly advised to also have their owninsurance cover.
- 6. NO ENTRIES WILL BE TAKEN ON SHOWDAY.
- PRIZES: 1st €50, 2nd €30, 3rd €20, except where stated.
CLASS 1 Entry Fee €15 Best Irish Draught type Mare Registered or Unregistered. Stinted or with foal at foot.
CLASS 2 Entry Fee €15 Best Mare to breed a Hunter (half-bred) with foal at foot.
CLASS 3 Entry Fee €15 Best Mare with foal at foot judged as a unit. 50% marks each for mare and foal, confined to: East Clare area. "Patrick Walsh Memorial Cup" presented to the winner.
CLASS 4 Entry Fee €15 Best Mare with foal at foot judged as a unit. 50% marks each for mare and foal. Allen Pepetual Cup.
CLASS 5 Entry Fee €15 Best Colt Foal calculated to make a Hunter.
CLASS 6 Entry Fee €15 Best Filly Foal calculated to make a Hunter.
CLASS 7 Entry Fee €10 The Irish Shows Association and Mountbellew Show Society present - The Traditional Irish Sport Horse Foal All Ireland Championship. Sponsored by: Malt House Bar & Restaurant, Mountbellew; Briggs Drapery, Mountbellew; Mountbellew Agricultural Show Society & Farrell Brothers, Mountbellew. Prize Fund: €2,000.
Rules and Conditions
1. Entries are confined to foals registered in the I.H.R with the breedcode ISH or ID with the dam documented on the passport & must be sired by a stallion that is classified as ‘Approved, ‘Supplementary Approved’ or ‘Preliminary Approved’ in the Irish Sport Horse Studbook or a Stallion that is classified as ‘class 1’ / R.I.D’ in the Irish Draught Horse Studbook. The class is also open to the progeny of Weatherby's Thoroughbred Stallions that are not classified in the I.H.R”.
2. Their Dams must also be by stallions as above and Registered with the IHR.
3. All Exhibitors must have the Dams passport plus stallion owners covering cert (or foals passport) ready for inspection at the Qualifying Show and Final.
4. A maximum of 2 Foals (one colt/one filly) may be selected at any Qualifying Show provided that the Judges & the ISA agree the standard is high enough.
5. Foals qualified for Final are not eligible to enter any other class at
Mountbellew Show.
ENTRY FEE: To Final €20 PRIZE FUND FOR FINAL: Colt & Fillies will be judged separately at Final.
Colt: 1st - €400, 2nd - €250, 3rd - €150, 4th- €100, 5th -8th (Inc) €50
Filly: 1st - €400, 2nd - €250, 3rd - €150, 4th -€100, 5th – 8th (Inc) €50
Sir Henry Grattan Bellew Salver will be presented to the overall champion foal. A replica of the Salver will be given to the winner, Runner-up foal will receive a cup. A prize will be presented for Combination of Best Turned Out Horse and Most Suitably Dressed Handler.
